Module 5

How do I assess student learning?
In PE I like to visually assess the students. I will have a rubric or checklist to go off of and make some notes. This is gives me the opportunity to give the students an immediate grade and feedback.

How do I involve students in the assessment process?
I would assess the groups myself and have other class members also watch and have them analize them and get their feedback with the group that got assessed.

Jeff, have you thought about having students set their own physical fitness goals. They could complete a goal sheet and review it once or twice to check themselves and their progress. This could even include simple things like having tennis shoe on every time they come to PE.
